Online bookmaker to sponsor major boxing events.

Sportsbook.com has announced a new agreement with Top Rank, promoter and producer of international boxing events. As part of the arrangement, Sportsbook.com will be the title sponsor of two upcoming Pay-Per-View fights featuring some of the biggest names in boxing at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and Madison Square Garden in New York.

On May 28 in Los Angeles, fighter Julio Cesar Chavez, and his undefeated teenage son J.C. Chavez, Jr. will be on the same championship boxing card. Televised on Showcase, this fight will mark the end of a brilliant career for Chavez, as he will retire from boxing after his bout with Ivan Robinson. The card also includes a fierce eliminator bout between super featherweights Carlos 'Famoso' Hernandez and Jesus 'El Matador' Chavez, as well as a title defence by IBF Bantamweight champion Rafael Marquez.

On June 11 in New York, undefeated WBO Junior Welterweight champion Miguel Cotto will defend his belt against Olympic gold medalist Muhammad Abdullaev, the last fighter to defeat him at the amateur level. Televised on HBO, the blockbuster card will also feature undefeated lightweight sensation Kid Diamond against former world champion Joel Casamayor at Madison Square Garden.

'Top Rank has put together two blockbuster events in some of the most legendary arenas in the world. We're thrilled to be a part of it and we're happy to help bring this excitement to boxing fans everywhere,' says Alex Czajkowski, Marketing Director, Sportsbook.com. 'Sportsbook.com and Top Rank are making history as this is the first time ever that a father and son of this stature are on the same professional fight card.'

Last Woman Standing in Celebrity Charity Poker Tournament.

Starlet Shannon Elizabeth rocked the tables at GQ and Calvin Klein’s 2nd Annual Celebrity Charity Poker Tournament when she bowed out of the tournament as the last woman standing.

Elizabeth ended up a respectable 6th in the tournament and donated her wínnings to the Peace Games. Leading online gambling site Bodog.com sponsored Elizabeth’s seat in the tournament.

Elizabeth was knocked out on by professional poker player Chip Jett who called her all-in with K-7 off-suit and drew a King on the turn.

“I just love playing poker and it’s even better to wín for charity,” Shannon Elizabeth declared. “I’m excited about my newfound relationship with Bodog.com, too; I play on their site all the time.”

“We are thrilled to have a female celebrity player of Shannon’s caliber represent us at the tables, noted Bodog.com Founder and CEO Calvin Ayre. “Women players are a growth area for us, as the number of female poker players we have is currently growing at over 500 percent per year and we expect that significant growth to continue.”
